Writing

Just finished a short story. Just over 3500 words. I’m pleased with it. It’s a little different. Kind of a twist at the end. I had a cop named Officer Darcy and named the Heroine Elizabeth. Have I mentioned I hate coming up with names? Heroine had a completely different name and it occured to me that she should be Elizabeth to go with Officer Darcy.

On an unrelated note I ‘ve been looking for info on the next Bond project. Not much out there. Just thinking of what they will do with Daniel next. I think he’s actually shown some character growth in his interpretaion of Bond. I know not everyone wants it or likes it but I do. Caught Casino Royale on tv a couple of times over the weekend. Ohhh My I do love Daniel in that movie.

I hate coming up with names whenever I write too. Check out this link: http://www.seventhsanctum.com/generate.php?Genname=quickname. I wrote about it here: http://sk3erkrou.wordpress.com/2010/01/20/seventh-sanctum/

  2. Thanks for the input. I checked out your blog and Seventh Sanctum. I really like all the generators in Seventh Sanctum. I’ll be heading back there I’m sure.

There won’t be another Bond film for sometime. The franchise is owned by MGM, which is currently for sale and $3.7 in debt. Barbara Broccoli and half brother Michael G. Wilson are the exclusive producers of the Bond Movies (having inherited it from father Albert R. Broccoli), and cannot produce another film without a studio to actually make that happen.

If MGM ends up being broken apart and sold separately, or if it goes into bankruptcy, it could take 10 years to start another Bond film. Time Warner offered $1.5 billion for MGM; the Bond franchise being worth $1 billion by itself. The studio wants to hold out for at least $2.5 billion.

According to the producers, at least for now, Bond projects have been put on indefinite suspension, although there been rumors that it is canceled. The producers had no comment on cancellation. Meanwhile, Daniel Craig is still contracted to do two more Bond films; he signed for four. A concern is that it could take a number of years (if at all) before this is all settled and at 42 years old, Mr. Craig doesn’t have that time to waste. They want to keep the Bond character under 50 and had planned for Mr. Craig to have finished at least those two more films, if not three, before he reaches that age.

Mr. Craig is in Sweden filming his latest movie, “The Girl With the Dragon Tatoo”, based on a novel by Stieg Larsson.. He plays disgraced journalist Mikael Blomkvist.
